Weekly Meetings

During the CEMS meetings, students will be divided into specific groups to learn about the opportunities and weaknesses of those regions, covering topics from Central Bank Digital Currency to FDI to Impact Investing of Emerging Markets.

General body meetings are be held on a weekly basis.

  • The Board is responsible for organizing speaker events and weekly general body meetings,

  • Regional VPs are responsible for conducting group meetings, creating bi-weekly member presentations, and leading bi-weekly member workshops,

  • General body members are responsible for active participation in weekly meetings and member workshops.

Speaker Events

In addition to our weekly meetings, CEMS organizes events for people within the organization and beyond, bringing in experts from different fields within emerging markets to share their knowledge.

The Review

Columbia Emerging Markets Review is a student-led publication focused entirely on emerging economies. We publish essays, op-eds, and articles on a range of topics, including business, finance, policy, technology, and societal issues shaping the future of rapidly developing countries. Submissions will undergo a review process, and pieces that meet our standards will be published to our site!
